Known by The Bear, the Canadian chef and actor announces Pig Pen’s debut album, with intense lyrics on mental health and inner chaos
Matty Mathesonseries star The Bearannounced his first album with the hardcore band Pig Pen. The group recently released the single “Mental Mentality” And revealed that the debut album, Mental Madnessarrives on June 27 by the label FLATSPOT RECORDS.
THE Pig Pen It is formed by Matheson on vocals, the guitarist Wade Macneil (from Alexisonfire) and other musical friends. The band made their first performance in April at the traditional Sneaky Dee’s in Toronto.
Described as “intense, noisy, emotional and brutal”, the group’s sound translates the central theme of the album: mental health issues. “You can be surrounded by friends, living a good day, and yet your mind sabotage everything,” he says Matheson.
