Singer performs her 12th National Solo Tour, again with former Nightwish partner, with DVD recording and presentation with orchestra
Show Tarja Turunen In Brazil it has become an annual event, carnival type and June party. And fills; Even so, the Finnish singer visits us so much. Fortunately. The tenth national artist tour of solo career – which also came on four occasions with his former band, the Nightwishand one with the project Noche Scandinava – Starts in this Sunday, 18with tickets sold out for presentation in the Wirein Curitiba. The agenda continues Tuesday, 20, at Mister Rock, in Belo Horizonte; Thursday, 22, at the Araújo Vianna Auditorium, in Porto Alegre; and Saturday, 24, at Tokio Marine Hall, in São Paulo.
The four commitments are next to Marko Hietalaformer Tarja partner at Nightwish and also absent from the group that made him famous, despite his previous career with the Tarot. The pair had already tied here last year, but a part of the feature film was marked by health problems: Hietala became ill and did not participate in a show in Porto Alegre; In Curitiba, the entire event had to be canceled on time because it was Turunen’s turn to get sick. At the time, both promised to return – and so they did.
This time there are differentials. The presentation in São Paulo will take place with an orchestra and will be recorded for later release on DVD. In addition, in an interview with Rolling Stone BrazilTarja guarantees that the show will be “completely different” compared to last year. Without anticipating what is to come, she stated:
“It’s fantastic to be able to go back so fast after what happened. We renew everything. It’s not the same show. It’s definitely a new configuration, a new setlist and everything else. It’s fantastic. We’ll even have a string orchestra [em São Paulo]. Stay excited, because it’s absolutely different – I just don’t want to spoilers. ”

Although he is a heavy metal artist, Turunen has his career all linked to classical music – even before he became a professional. With Nightwish, he mixed the two universes as it is a “symphonic metal” band. This footprint was maintained in the artist’s solo trajectory, which began after the traumatic break with his former group in 2005. Even so, there is an air of news for herself in the presentation in São Paulo:
“This is not the first time I do something like this, but I usually introduce myself with symphonic orchestras in the singer’s position. This formation that unites band and orchestra is exciting. It’s a challenge. There will be a different orchestra with local musicians in each country [da América Latina, visto que a turnê também passou por Argentina e irá para Chile, México e Costa Rica após o Brasil]. They are all rehearsing and I’m closely following progress. Then we will rehearse in person. It demands a great preparation, as there are a lot of people on stage and can be chaotic if you don’t be careful. ”

Knowing Marko Hietala Real
Although they worked together between 2001 and 2005, Tarja Turunen and Marko Hietala did not know each other so well. The singer was part of the band since its foundation in 1996. Hietala only joined the group five years later, in the position of musician already recognized in Finland with the aforementioned Tarot. In addition to being bassist, he assumed vocals and made a double -grown double. There was musical chemistry, but behind the scenes, the communication between her and the other colleagues – Marko, the keyboardist Holopainen Tuomasthe guitarist Emppu Vuorinen and the drummer Jukka Nevalainen – It was scarce.
Therefore, it is not surprised when Turunen guarantees to be knowing the old/current colleague only now. The two reactivated the partnership in 2023, when they sang together “The Phantom of the Opera” (From the musical The Phantom of the Opera) in Switzerland, and extended not only on tour, but also recording the song together “Left on Mars”. About the partner, Tarja declares:
“He is definitely a new guy in my life, a new friend I have. We only recorded two albums together in the band, for a short time. We had no chance to meet at the time because the group was already having some problems and there was no communication. It was really difficult for me. We were children at the time we were in the band.

And this reconnection will offer more fruits besides “Left on Mars” and the shows together. Turunen says Hietala should participate in her upcoming studio album, scheduled for 2026.
“He promised to record a song for my next album, which is already in production. I need to start writing the lyrics, but the instrumental is basically ready. So, we are starting to production. I will do a lot of shows until September, when I start to dedicate myself to the album. It is known as it will take. But the release is scheduled for 2026, probably at the end of next year.”
Brazil and… Anette Olzon
In total, Tarja Turunen accumulates more than 60 shows in Brazil, between solo career, Nightwish and the Noche Scandinava project – not to mention the performances that come out there. While informed about this number by the report of Rolling Stone Brazil, the singer opened her mouth, amazed. At the end of a question about her relationship with the local audience, she stated that she was “jaw -dropping.”
“I have a spreadsheet with all the shows I did in my life. I don’t even want to look, because it’s scary to realize how much I’ve ever worked. But the Brazilian audience has been so amazing, year after year. I can come back and yet my fans expect me to come back again. I get a lot of support from your country. So I want to do something special for you now, when you come back, to make my gratitude feel.”
This same Brazil is one of the largest global consumers of Nightwish and the parallel work of all its current and former member. Therefore, it is also favorable terrain, too, for an unprecedented tour in September where the band’s successor in the band, Anette Olzonrevisits its repertoire built with the same band, between 2007 and 2012.
Also during this interview, Turunen was not only warned that Olzon had taken such an initiative, but also about a friendly gesture of his predecessor. Last year, when Tarja published on the networks about the recorded music in partnership with Marko, Anette left a comment that said: “I’m happy to see you two together and so happy. Congratulations to you both”.
Given all this, Nightwish’s original frontwoman stated:
“In fact, I didn’t know that. It’s new to myself. I’m very happy for her. If she’s happy, I wish her all the best. A lot, a lot of love. I haven’t met her personally, I would love to talk to her and give her a tight hug, because we never talked. I didn’t even know she was commenting on me and Marko making music together again. Maybe I’m disconnected from the networks for many times.”
