The origin of the nickname Bono Vox

Paul David Hewson, now 65, earned the nickname Bono Vox five decades ago, still in his teens. When he was between 14 and 15 years old, the Irish singer was called this way by a friend of Dublincity where it was born.

The friend in question, GuggiHe also liked music and dubbed him based on the word “Bonavox”. It was the name of an existing hearing aid store in the capital of Ireland at that time.
