Musicqueens of the Stone Age releases audio version of Alive in the Catacombs

Live recording arrives on June 13 on digital and numbered vinyl from August 22, with exclusive photos and sound without editions

THE Queens of the Stone Age announced the release of the audio version of the show Alive in the Catacombsrecently presented as a reception on the band’s official website. The recording will be available on digital platforms from June 13, and will also win a special edition in vinyl on August 22, via Matador Records.

Physical edition is limited to 5,000 copies, with each specimen numbered individually and stamped with foil. The disc comes in a special gatefold packaging with internal and external metal finish, plus a 24 -page booklet with behind -the -scenes photos clicked by Andreas Neumannlongtime visual collaborator of the group.

Recorded without overdubs or editions, the five song set has the band’s current formation – Joshua Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita and Jon Theodoreaccompanied by a trio of strings. Unusual elements as chains and hashis were used as percussion, reinforcing the experimental character of performance.

Audio production was due to MARK RANKINwho worked alongside François-Xavier Delaby, Henri d’Amancourt and Alban Lejeunewith final mixing signed by Rankin, Host and Shuman.

The movie Alive in the Catacombs was released on the band’s website last week, along with the documentary Alive in Paris and Beforeas a warming for the new US tour, postponed last year on a medical emergency Host.
