Banda recalled image of one of their most controversial and criticized phases – and even decades later, audiences did not leave cheap

The trajectory of Metallic It was marked by different phases. In the 1990s, in particular, the band underwent real metamorphoses: progressively, he abandoned thrash metal to prioritize hard rock of less accelerated beats and changed the look, with shorter hair and makeup use.

A photo of this period, more specifically from the time when the album Load (1996) was released, drew a lot of attention in a recent post on social networks. The group, which today promotes an expanded relaunch of the album in question, released the image produced by Anton Corbijn to promote the initiative.

In the comments, the fans themselves could not stand and began to mock James Hetfield (voice and guitar), Kirk Hammett (guitar), Lars Ulrich (battery) and Jason Newsted (at the low time). Some of the most likely manifestations on Instagram say:

“That looks like a poster in the twilight movie.”

“Did I have been weezerized by Metallica?”

“This is not James, man.”

“I will tell my children that this is the Backstreet Boys.”

Already on Facebook, there are lines like:

“If James and Jason kiss, his facial hair would fit as a puzzle piece.”

“I had forgotten when Metallica looked like a German techno band.”

“Well, seeing Kirk’s belly button wasn’t on my bingo card today, but here we are.”
