With launch scheduled for August, Guitar presents intimate and homemade tracks, and paving the way for a world tour in 2026
Mac Demarco It’s back with a new album and a more personal approach than ever. Guitarhis next album, arrives on August 22 through the Mac’s Record Label label, bringing a collection of entirely recorded tracks at home in Los Angeles during November 2024.
The first sample of the project is already on the air. “Home”debut single, is accompanied by an intimate music video filmed by Mac While he paddled by canoe near his mother’s new home in Canada. Music, according to him, talks precisely about the meaning of home.
More than a musical return, Guitar It represents an honest portrait of the artist’s current moment. Besides composing and recording everything alone, Demarco It also took care of the mix, the album arts and the production of the clips, always with the help of a tripod. Only the mastering was in charge of the engineer David Ives. “I think this is the work that comes closest to where I really am in life today,” said the musician.
The news is accompanied by a major worldwide tour of 2026. The agenda starts in Asia, with dates in February and March in Japan and Hong Kong, and follows in May with an extensive series of shows in the United States. All opening artists are part of the seal of Mac: MOCK MEDIA, Tex Crick, Daryl Johns and Vicky Farewell.
Guitar It is the first album since the instrumental Five Easy Hot Dogsof 2023, and the ambitious One Wayne G.which brought together 199 tracks recorded between 2018 and 2023.
