Joe Perrylegendary guitarist of Aerosmith And now leading the Joe Perry Projecthe says he still has hope that the band can make at least one last performance. Questioned about future meetings with Steven TylerPerry tells Siriusxm (via blabberouthh): “I know there has to be at least another Aerosmith show”.
In September 2023, Aerosmith interrupted the “Peace Out” tour after only three shows, due to a serious vocal injury of Steven Tylerwhich culminated in laryngeal fracture. Since then, the vocalist briefly resumed microphones at charity events – such as the Jam for janiein February 2025 – but Matt Sorumpersonal friend and career colleague, stated that “TOURSE FOLLOW OUT OF COGIATION” by the physical wear involved.
Meanwhile, Perry embarks in August 2025 in a series of eight shows in the US with his solo project, bringing together weight musicians as Brad Whitford (Aerosmith), Chris Robinson (The Black Crowes) and members of the Stone Temple Pilots.
Despite being focused on the new group, Perry stresses that the Aerosmith subject is always present in his conversations: “We talk probably a few times a week”.

Factors that condition back
Joe Perry recognizes that organizing a show with Aerosmith is a logistical, physical and emotional challenge, especially considering the age of members – Tyler is 77 and Perry, 74. The wear of long tours, months away from home and repetition of shows requires “Give life in each presentation”.
On the other hand, producer Jack Douglas, who worked in Toys in the Attic (1975), he recently said that he continues to believe the band’s return potential as long as Tyler recovers sufficient vocal capacity – still noting that without him there is no possible Aerosmith.
Aerosmith’s future perspectives
