Earlier this year, Chukwudi Iwuji, who has appeared in projects such as Doctor who Yes John Wick: Chapter 2was propelled to new heights of glory when he played Clemson Murn the suicide squad spin-off series Lollipop. While things didn’t go well for Murn on the HBO show Max, it was only the beginning of Iwuji’s collaboration with director James Gunn. The actor was chosen guardians of the galaxy vol. 3 to play High Evolutionary, and Gossipify’s Sean O’Connell got to talk to Iwuji about his character’s motivations and work on flight. 3 different from its time Lollipop.
guardians of the galaxy vol. 3 was one of the Marvel films featured at San Diego Comic-Con during the Marvel Studios panel, and alongside flight. 3 Teased footage of Rocket Raccoon’s origins and more exclusively shown to attendees, Chukwudi Iwuji appeared in costume and in the character of High Evolutionary. After the panel, Iwuji spoke to Sen O’Connell about the third tutor movie, saying first motivates this newcomer to the MCU:
I think in his head he thinks he’s doing what’s best for humanity, which is what all kinds of narcissists and sociopaths do. They don’t really think they are doing something wrong and they feel empowered to do what they are doing. So in many ways … oddly [an] attraction to him because he’s extremely intelligent and unusually charismatic, but … he’s real shit. And this combination is always fun to play, right? And is it still fun to watch because you love it? Do you hate him? How much do you hate him? How much do you love him? Are you attracted to it?
Starting from the above description, as well as Chukwudi Iwuji describing his then unknown character as “powerful” and “deeply complex”, it appears that the High Evolutionary could play the role of guardians of the galaxy vol. 3The main antagonist of pretty good. And while the High Evolutionary may believe what he is doing is for the greater good, Iwuji has made it clear that this character is quite despicable, which paradoxically will make audiences feel for him. Despite flight. 3 Marche High scalability The first live appearance of, has appeared in various anime shows over the years, including the 1990s. x men show, Hulk and SMASH agents Yes Guardians of the Galaxy (which is not part of the MCU continuity).
High Evolutionary also gave Chukwudi Iuwji the opportunity to play an established comic book character, while James Gunn created Clemson Murn for Lollipop, which returns for another season. Iwuji said that although there is nothing in common between the High Evolutionary and Murn, as with LollipopGunn focused primarily on the character of guardians of the galaxy vol. 3. In the words of the actor:
Well, with this character, [he’s] very different from everything in Peacemaker, and I think James … because he wrote most of it without knowing me, and then changed some things after he met me. And I think this guy is very different. There is nothing Murn in Peacemaker has played about this guy, other than me playing him. And that’s what James can do. He can affect you emotionally, make you laugh and all, but his strength is really his character. People think by genre and it’s so funny, it’s all about the plot … But James is all about the character, and that character was so unique. He immediately came to mind as soon as I read the script. So to me he was a completely different beast from Peacemaker.
Other newcomers join Chukwudi Iwuji guardians of the galaxy vol. 3 they include Will Poulter as Adam Warlock and Maria Bakalova as Cosmo the Spacedog, as well as Daniela Melchior and Nico Santos in unknown roles. Along with the main roster of Returning Guardians, we will also meet Sylvester Stallone’s Stakar Ogord and Elizabeth Debicki’s Ayesha. The third part will be the final installment of James Gunn’s run with the Guardians of the Galaxy, although that doesn’t mean that some of the characters won’t be able to appear in other upcoming Marvel movies in the future.
guardians of the galaxy vol. 3 will be released in theaters on May 5, 2023, but before that, Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas Special will be released in December. You can watch it with a Disney + subscription, just like the past adventures of the MCU’s Guardians (except Thor: love and thunderwhich is still in programming at the cinema).
