Elton JohnCertainly a name inserted among the great of world music, has no problem recognizing the genius of their peers. Especially when it comes to the “biggest of all time,” according to the Briton.
Despite being in the first shelf of pop music, Elton says he doesn’t reach the feet of Stevie Wonderwhich positions at the top of the pantheon of musical artists.
As published by Rolling Stone USA (via Far Out Magazine), Rocket Man has already torn compliments to Wonder and his double album Songs in the Key of Life (1976), acclaimed worldwide:
“Wherever I go to the world, I always take a copy of Songs in the Key of Life. It’s the best album ever made, and I am always impressed when I hear it. He (Stevie Wonder) is so multitalented that it is difficult to point out what makes him the greatest of all time. ”
John adds:
“Stevie Wonder can eat me at breakfast in terms of musicality, but that doesn’t make me angry, jealous or tense. I would give anything to have his talent.”

Elton John and Stevie Wonder
Contemporary, Elton John and Stevie Wonder dominated pop music throughout the 1970s. Of course, they found themselves many times. The first, however, does not bring good memories to Elton.
In your autobiography Me (Iin Portuguese), 2019, Elton reported how this unusual story went. They were on a flight, and the Briton had locked himself in the plane’s bathroom, annoyed with his press officer, Sharon Laurence “That, in fact, was just wanting to help you finally know your idol.”
“She started knocking on the door and begging me to leave. I sent her fucking. She kept coming back. Eventually, she started crying – ‘You have to come to the bar!’ “Then I opened the door angry and did what she asked for, snorting and rolling her eyes on the way. When I arrived at the bar, Stevie Wonder was sitting at the organ, ready to touch me.
Subsequently, Elton John had the opportunity to find Stevie Wonder in better condition. The two even released a song together: “Finish Line”who came out on the disk The Lockdown Sessions (2021), by Elton, and gained a music video.
