Vocalist has not included compositions of his main band in solo career repertoires, but will open an exception in Brazil

Next month, Bruce Dickinson will visit Brazil for the third time in just over a year. The singer held, between April and May last year, a long solo tour across the country. In December, it returned with the Iron Maiden for two presentations in São Paulo. Now, again in a solo career, it is scheduled as one of the attractions of the second day of The TownSeptember 7th.

Given this, Dickinson was expected to approach something different for his performance at the Paulistano Festival. And in fact, it will happen.

In an interview with Metalshop (via Blabberouth), the singer stressed that the repertoire to be performed at The Town will feature the song Revelationsone of its compositions for Iron Maiden. In the two visits prior to Brazil, the song had not yet figured in the setlist.

“I’m going to South America on this tour just for a show – because the reason is the 40th anniversary of my debut at Rock in Rio, and there is a large festival in Sao Paulo called The Town [evento do mesmo criador do Rock in Rio]. It is a huge festival. So I will play one of my songs from Maiden, because I made up some of them completely alone. People ask: ‘Hey, who composed the guitar part of’Revelations‘?’ I said, ‘Do you know the part that says who composed the music? Did you see the name of anyone else there? ‘ Then they answer, ‘Wow, man, I didn’t know you played guitar.’ I used to play guitar with Maiden for 10 seconds on stage, but I think the bastards never called her. ”

Also during the occasion, Bruce reflected on the repertoire that has been taken to the 2025 stage of his tour, still promoting the album The Mandrake Project (2024). He pointed out:

“I’m on the US tour for the first time with The Mandrake Projectand we are also playing things from ACCIDENT OF BIRTH (1997) and The Chemical Wedding (1998). I have seven studio albums to choose from. Obviously, I will play some things Balls to Picasso (1994), then ‘Tears of the Dragon’ will be there, besides some other things, like ‘Gods of War’. Things like ‘The Alchemist’ and ‘Chemical Wedding’people in Europe are like: ‘My God’. ”

Bruce Dickinson and the debut at Rock in Rio

In 1985, Iron Maiden was one of the attractions of the first edition of Rock in Rio. Also during the new interview, Bruce Dickinson recalled the show, which, according to him, was marked by technical problems.

“The sound was horrible. I was very pissed. I was very moody. I hit the guitar in my head, came cold blood from a wound in the head. This was shown on the big screen. The businessman asked me to squeeze the wound a little more, because it was great in the cameras. And that image became a little legendary in Brazil. To touch her in the USA. [Run for Your Lives]. And because it’s my music, I can adjust it as you want. ”

The band that accompanies Dickinson in the current shows consists of Dave Moreno (battery), Mysther (keyboards) and Tanya O’Callaghan (low), besides guitarists Philip näslund and Chris Declercq. The final duo replaces Roy Zwhich is not part of the recent formation.
