Musicissie Hynde announces duet album with big names in music

Chrissie Hynde’s new Duet Special album brings collaborations with Brandon Flowers, Cat Power and Rufus Wainwright, and will be released on October 17

Chrissie Hyndethe legendary founding of Pretendhas just announced the release of his new Duetos album, titled SPECIAL DUETS.

The album brings Hynde joining an impressive team of artists, including Brandon Flowers (from Killers), Cat Power, Dave Gahan (Depeche Mode), Debbie Harry (Blondie), Shirley Manson (Grubby), Alan Sparhawk (Low), Lucinda Williams, Dan Auerbach (from Black Keys) and the deceased Mark Lanegan. In SPECIAL DUETS, Chrissie and your guests play songs from icons like Elvis Presley, Morrissey, Low, 10ccyou Righteous Brothers, Billy Paul and Brenda Holloway. The album also includes a version of a song from Beatles with Julian Lennon. For the debut single, Chrissie join RUFUS WAINWRIGHT To interpret the classic “Always on My Mind”originally written by Wayne Carson, Johnny Christopher and Mark James and released in 1972 by Gwen Mcrae.

Hynde commented on the album and the music:

I never thought of making a duet album before. The idea came in 2023, when I was talking to Jörnhusband of RUFUS WAINWRIGHT. We were recommending books to each other, and suddenly, I said: ‘Maybe the Rufus And I should do something. ‘ I wrote 10 songs on time, and Jörn asked the Rufusthat bumped into. And so it started, something spontaneous and that I thought it would be fun.

SPECIAL DUETSIt will be released on October 17, promising moments of nostalgia and surprises with these unmissable partnerships.
