The brilliant video arrived along with the release of Carpenter’s seventh album, Man’s Best Friend
The Seventh Album of Sabrina Carpenter, Man’s Best Friendit is bolder than ever. The long-awaited album was released on today, Friday 29, along with the provocative video of his second track, “Tears”which counts on Colman Sunday Drag.
The video starts with CarpenterStunning in a light blue set and sunshine, waking up on the floor after a car accident, with his apparently killed boyfriend in the driver’s seat. She soon drags on to an incredibly abandoned house in the middle of nowhere and, when spying through the door, sees a pair of legs wrapped in trawling socks. Naturally, the door opens suddenly and Carpenter enters, being received by Sundaywhich wears a cropped striped suit and red lipstick.
As the camera follows Carpenter Through the curious corridors and sloping rooms of the house, she comes across a bright cast of characters and deliciously chaotic surprises around every corner, while sings the chorus: “I sauce when you think of you / Being a responsible guy / treating me how I should / tears go down my thighs.” There is even a lively dance with Sundaybecause as the winner of the Grammy Declares at the end of the video: “You have to give the public what they want.”
During an album release party at Spotify, Carpenter He said his creative process behind the new album was “totally about embracing spontaneity, about embracing the impulses I was having and the experiences I was living, which were really urgent for me to write about.” She continued, “And know that if I didn’t make this album and didn’t make it represent the chapter of my life it represents, it would never have been this album. He would have become something else, and I think it would have damaged the album.”
