Band formed in São Paulo by mostly cariocas musicians returns to a festival stage of Roberto Medina for the first time in 24 years
In 2001, the Tihuana took the stage of Rock in Rio for the first and only time. Now, almost a quarter of a century later, the band formed in São Paulo by mostly cariocas musicians returns to another festival designed by ROBERTO MEDINA: The Townas the main attraction of the Factory Stage on September 7th.
For the event at the Interlagos racetrack, in the state capital, the group composed of Egypcio (voice), Román (low), Leo (guitar), Pg (battery) and Bay (percussion) and gathered in 2024 after a 7 -year hiatus promises a special participation. Andreas Kisserguitarist of Grave and icon of the Brazilian metal, will be the group’s guest at the time.
In a press release, Egypcio celebrated the partnership. The singer used the description “An artist who took the name of Brazil to the world” to define Kisser – stamping of Rock in Rio, with shows in eight national editions and three international events in addition to participation.

The Factory Stage of the Paulistano Festival will feature a celebration of Tihuana at the 25th anniversary of his debut album, Illegal (2000). The album has been the basis of the repertoire of the current tour, which not only realizes the meeting, but also the closure of the group’s activities.
In an interview prior to Rolling Stone Brasil, Egypcio pointed out that he and the other colleagues are still involved with other projects. Still, everyone found space on the agenda for a final series of performances, which since April has been through several cities in Brazil.
“On my way out [em 2017]I knew I wanted to do other things – and the guys went to do other things too. We left all this time without talking, but then we loving us again, kept conversations on WhatsApp and met at shows. All this led to this desire to do a commemorative tour – which at the same time is a farewell, because we didn’t have time to do it with my departure in 2017 and fans always charged a lot. ”
