MusicBruce Dickinson: Setlist and what to expect from the show at The Town 2025

Iron Maiden vocalist brings to Brazil again his tour that promotes ‘The Mandrake Project’ (2024), the latest solo album

Only since the resumption of postpandeia trips, Bruce Dickinson was in Brazil for public commitments in seven distinct occasions. And will be with us for the eighth time this Sunday, 7, as an attraction of the The Town 2025.

In addition to shows with Maiden and in a solo career, the multifaceted singer – who is also a plane pilot with experience on commercial flights, writer, graduated historian, an internationally competed, broadcaster, TV presenter and brewer – came to give different theme lectures.

His presentation on the Skyline stage on The Town is part of the tour that promotes the album solo The Mandrake Project (2024). Only with regard to this work, he came to Brazil at the end of 2023 to participate in the CCXP and present the music video “AfterGlow of Ragnarok” First hand, then returned between April and May last year for a tour of seven shows and now returns only to the Paulistano Festival, which takes place at the Interlagos racetrack.

But what is it like to watch a solo show from Dickinson? What to expect from this kind of presentation?

Analysis of Bruce Dickinson’s repertoire

First of all: Anyone who buys a ticket to check it out Iron Maiden’s songs will be disappointed. Practically the songs come from their albums released apart from their main band. Also, no pyrotechnics or miraculous screening arts, as the idea is to offer a fully music -centered performance, with almost no visual attractions.

There is, however, the promise of breaking the rule of “without Iron Maiden” on The Town. In interviews, Bruce Dickinson said he intends to sing “Revelations”album track Powerslave (1984) that marked its first visit to Brazil with Maiden, playing in Rock in Rio – Festival of the same filmmakers of The Town. The singer even assured that the idea is to execute it as a way to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the inaugural show in 1985.

Usually three albums make up the base of Bruce’s solo repertoire. Beyond the new The Mandrake Projectthe records are well represented ACCIDENT OF BIRTH (1997) and The Chemical Wedding (1998). They are also remembered Balls to Picasso (1994) and Tyranny of Souls (2005). But this may change if we consider that the set of a festival is shorter.

If Iron Maiden can enter the setlist, there is a chance that Dickinson’s largest solo hit falls out of the repertoire. Power Ballad “Tears of the Dragon” It is not always played: during a presentation at the French festival Hellfestfor example, she was not present.

Of the names mentioned, the most notorious are those of Tanya O’Callaghan and Dave Moreno. Show Analysis

In review stretch for the Igor Miranda websitethe journalist Guilherme Gonçalves He made the following observation by following a presentation in Brasilia, on April 27, 2024:

“Energy, provocative and willing to get the Iron Maiden fan of the comfort zone. This was the tonic of a Bruce Dickinson who, in addition to the already decant blameless vocal performance, handed a show of excellence. […] This time, with the spotlight not to Maiden, but for songs that, even without being contemplated for decades, aged very well and deserved this rescue. ”

In turn, for the same vehicle, ROLF AMARO made the following notes in his critique of the show in São Paulo:

“In this inaugural tour, Bruce Dickinson showed, in turn, that it is an entity with its own life, regardless of Iron Maiden. This detachment to the most popular project is done for the few. One of those who did this was Dave Grohl, who built a career that dispenses with any association to Nirvana to sell records and tickets. Aware and safe from it, Bruce has no problem with the band that supports him. Naslund runs on the stage, throws a palette all the time, interacts tests with Tanya O’Callaghan. Holopainen Tuomas (Nightwish), runs throughout the stage with its portable instrument, widely used by New clothing here in Brazil.”
