SHIP
At the Rock in Rio 2022, SHIP will be a space responsible for inspiring, overflowing art and culture, in addition to being plural, feminine, ancestral and peripheral and speaking in the first person. “We decided to bring a amazon alive, colorful, multicultural, authentic, original and new for each of us,” said Maria Paula Fonseca.
co-creation with the Rock in Rio and this ‘arrival,’ a SHIP landed in the Amazon and brought a lot of things from there. It will be a mixture of toy, stage, ballad… but we don’t stop there.
This project was carried out under the leadership of Coletivo Criativo NAVE, directed by the visual artist from Pará, Roberta Carvalho, scenography by Daniela Thomas, script by Karla Martins and musical direction by Aíla, a singer and multi-artist from Pará.
Natura Portal
At the collective, the Natura Portal was described as “a break in the skylinea multisensory kaleidoscope” and “a synesthetic experiment in connection, a living portal that will be opened with the amazonto finally never be closed.” It will be more than a stand, according to Fonsecabecause it was created as something democratic and open.
“This time we don’t even call it a booth, we propose to make an artistic creation, which we call a portal,” added the executive. “We want it to be a place where people reconnect with themselves, with nature. It’s an invitation in a playful and very deep way. People will enter an environment of getting to know a amazon unknown, said by herself.”
In another moment, Priscila Tapajoara talked about the invitation to the project and the importance of showing different sides of the amazon: “I was very happy to receive the invitation because it is very important to talk about amazon and have that view from within. I thought: how can I say this and take my message to so many people who will be [no Rock in Rio] during a time of festivity?”
I thought a lot about the spiritual issue, and the amazon there is this issue of wealth and biomes, which we sometimes get very attached to – of course it has its importance – but it goes beyond forests, rivers and animals: there are peoples and spirits.
