Music released in 2014 is one of the great successes of the career of the three artists, who were nominated for that year’s Grammy
Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj They joined together one of the great successes of their carriers: the hit “Bang Bang”launched in July 2014 and which was nominated for Grammy of that year.
The song, however, is also a source of some resentment, at least for Jessie J. British singer and songwriter considers that she deserved to have been invited by her colleagues to play the live song, which, she said, never happened.
During participation in the program SAY IT OR SHOT ITin Youtube (via Alpha FM), Jessie stated:
“They (Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj) were at another level of who they were at that time. But they never asked me to sing the music with them any time they performed (the song). This is boring.”
In the past, Jessie J also even said that he was unaware of the fact that Nicki Minaj was credited as one of the composers of “Bang Bang”. According to her, the rapper would have offered to participate, which was denied by Minaj at the time (via People).
In the recent participation in Say It or Shot It, Jessie J did a mea-Culpa and admitted that she was wrong to accuse Minaj of offered to appear in the song.
She said:
“I don’t know, really, because clearly I was wrong. I was told that she heard (the song) and asked to participate, that’s what they told me. Obviously is not what really happened, what is fair and she didn’t like it to be part of the narrative. So it’s her preference, but apparently not what happened (Nicki asked to get in the song).
