Even company that takes care of the 73 -year -old artist tours was impressed with such willingness to excuse
The current concern in the music industry regarding physical and mental health is greater than in previous decades. Therefore, many artists and bands have sought to fit longer time intervals between shows. But this is not the case with Udo dirkschneider.
Vocalist of ACCEPT In two tickets to the band – 1976 to 1987 and 1992 until 1997 -, the 73 -year -old German guarantees that he doesn’t care to take the stage in up to six straight dates, without clearance. The revelation was done in an interview with Laughing Monkey Music (via Blabberouth).
He said:
“When we hired our new concert agency and they started working on the European tour, they asked, ‘How many shows can you do?’ I said, ‘About five or six straight, no problem.”
Amazingly, the artist prefers his performances to be marked at shorter intervals. He states that the voice reacts better to frequent commitments.
“For me, it is better to do more shows in a row than having days of time off. For me, having days off is the ‘wrong way’. It’s crazy, I know, but it works for me. The voice is like a muscle.”
This is not just a preference for Dirkschneider. The singer acknowledges that tour costs are considerably lower with the reduction of rest dates.
“This, of course, makes the whole tour much cheaper – you have no days off and everything else. So let’s go. We continue.”
The members and other employees of their band, Udo, also prefer to work that way. The singer states:
“Everyone involved are happy that we do not interspersing a day off after only two shows. We move on, because we are really enjoying it.”

Udo Dirkschneider’s concert schedule is, in fact, quite intense for a 73 -year -old artist. The vocalist intersperses the commitments of the two bands: Udowhich focuses on its own material, and Dirkschneiderwith honors to your repertoire with ACCEPT.
Only in 2024, the two groups performed more than 110 performances. On average, there are two shows a week. Considering that there are periods of without tour and compulsory interval days due to long trips, this is an impressive number.
On his latest visit to Latin America, late last year, Dirkschneider performed five shows in five countries with only one day off in the midst of the commission. The agenda was fulfilled in Colombia (09/11), Brazil (11/11-a Monday), Argentina (13/11), Chile (15/11) and Mexico (17/11).
