14 -minute experimental track was recorded in 1967 and almost included in compilation in the 1990s, but was eventually vetoed

In recent years, a series of treasures related to the classic rock world has gone public when many fans could no longer have access. The documentary series The Beatles: Get Back and albums “lost” as The Smile Sessions (Beach Boys), The basement tapes raw (Bob Dylan and the Band) and Homegrown (Neil Young) are some of the many examples.

On October 17, another rarity whose existence was even questioned will be made available to fans: the “electric” version of Nebraskafrom Bruce Springsteen. The material will go public in a complementary way to the launch of the biography Springsteen: Save me from the unknown.

But there is still much more to release. Journalist Andy Greene, from Rolling Stone USAhighlights a Beatles song that has never seen the light of day officially: “Carnival of Light”of the Beatlesavailable only in unofficial records. Initially, the article states:

“On January 5, 1967, shortly after the start of Sgt’s recordings. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, the Beatles recorded a song of almost 14 minutes titled ‘Carnival of Light’that almost no one ever heard. This may seem incredibly exciting, such as discovering that there is an undoubtedly lost painting Leonardo da Vinci in a hidden closet. ”

Despite the excitement, some caveats are made that make the track less interesting than it might seem. Andy Greene tells:

‘Carnival of Light’ It is a makeshift experiment, without letter and avant -garde, that the band created at the request of Paul McCartney for the party Million Volt Light and Sound Rave In the roundhouse, in London. ‘I said [nas gravações]: All I want you to do is walk around, hit, scream, play, you don’t have to make sense at all, ‘recalled McCartney years later. ‘Beat a drum, then go to the piano, tap a few notes and just walk around’. In other words, this thing does ‘Revolution 9’ Opinion structured compared. ”

In the 1990s, the second volume of compilation Anthology Almost had “Carnival of Light”. Still, George Harrison and Ringo Starr vetoed Paul McCartney’s attempt to include her in the material. “Still, it is a legitimate recording of the four Beatles at the height of their powers. It needs to be released”finish Andy Greene.
