Golden palm winner in 1984, a long re -release copy displayed in Cannes, with distribution of O2 Play

Paris, Texasfrom the German director Wim Wenders (Wings of Desire), re-estimates from this Thursday (25) in Brazilian theaters in a 4K-restored version with O2 Play distribution. The world’s world premiere took place in Cannes 2024 as part of the Cannes Classics show.

Considered the most popular and internationally successful film of Wim Wenders, Paris, Texas celebrates 80 years in 2025. Critical acclaimed, received a series of important international awards, including the Golden Palm at the 1984 Cannes Festival.

What is the story of Paris, Texas?

The film tells the story of Travis (Harry Dean Stanton, Lucky), a man who is found exhausted and without memory in a desert in Texas after four years missing. Gradually, he begins to remember his life and is welcomed by Brother Walt (Dean Stanton), who lives with his wife Anne (Aurore Clément).

Together they also take care of Hunter (Hunter Carson, Mars Invaders), Travis’s son, who gradually reconnects with his father. As Travis and Hunter rebuild their relationship and develop a strong friendship, the man went in search of his ex-wife Jane (Nastassja Kinski, TESS).

4K Restoration

The digital restoration of the film was performed in 2024. The original 35 mm negative was scanned in 4K at L’Immagine Ritrovata in Bologna, with financial support from CNC. The restoration and color correction occurred Nasis Berlin Postproduktion, with the support of Chanel and German Film Heritage Funding Program (FFE). Watch the trailer:
