What is it about?
The film revisits a little-known episode in European history from the 1920s/30s. A community of idealistic Germans sets out for the island of Floreana Island, in the Galápagos Islands, abandoning the bourgeois values they believed erode humanity to build an alternative life in the wild. Eden addresses survival, mystery and complex human relationships in the face of adversity, as the dream of utopia gives way to distrust, violence and moral collapse.
While Ana de Armas plays Baroness Eloise, whose hedonistic vision clashes with the group’s discipline. Sydney Sweeney plays Margret Wittmer, a symbol of a third way, as she tries to balance family and survival amid the degradation of the colony.
Who is in the cast?
In addition to Sweeney and of Weaponsthe cast includes Jude Law (Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets) who plays Friedrich Ritter, a doctor who preaches self-sufficiency and an ascetic life, Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible – The Final Hit), Daniel Brühl (Falcon and the Winter Soldier), between others.
