IT Prelude: The Thing is developed by Andy Muschietti, who is also involved in the superhero film franchise
IT: Welcome to Derryprequel series to IT: The Thing (2017) and IT: Chapter Two (2019), arrived in the HBO Max catalog last Sunday (26) and brought two easter eggs which connect the novelty to the DC universe in cinemas for a very special reason.
In one of the scenes, during a dinner, the father of Teddy Urisplayed by Mikkal Karim Fidler (The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), fights with him for reading a comic book about the speedster Flash. Later, the boy appears reading another magazine, which features Clayface as a villain.
Although it seems like a random choice, the characters have a connection with Andy Muschietticreator of the series, as well as being responsible for the two films that precede it. The filmmaker commanded The Flasha feature film about the superhero capable of running faster than the speed of light, released in 2022, still as part of the old DC Extended Universe (DCEU).
Later, with the reformulation of the franchise to DC Cinematic Universe (DCU)now led by james gunn and Peter Safran, Muschietti was hired to direct a film about Clayfacewhich does not yet have a confirmed release date.
