Saoirse Ronan (Linda Eastman McCartney), Anna Sawai (Yoko Ono), Aimee Lou Wood (Pattie Boyd) and Mia McKenna-Bruce (Maureen Cox Starkey) are in the cast of The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Event
The producers of the upcoming biopics of Beatles officially announced which actresses will play the quartet’s famous companions in the films scheduled for 2028. The information is from Rolling Stone.
The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Event will feature the already announced Saoirse Ronan as Linda Eastman McCartney, Anna Sawai (Shōgun) as Yoko Ono, Aimee Lou Wood (The White Lotus) as Pattie Boyd and Mia McKenna-Bruce (How to Have Sex) as Maureen Cox Starkey in the biographical film series.
The four actresses join Paul Mescal (Paul McCartney), Harris Dickinson (John Lennon), Barry Keoghan (Ringo Starr) and Joseph Quinn (George Harrison) in The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Eventwhich will be directed by Sam Mendes.
“Maureen, Beautiful, Yoko and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right — and I’m thrilled that we were able to convince four of the most talented women in cinema today to embark on this incredible adventure,” he said. Mendes in a statement.
“Maureen Cox (Mia McKenna-Bruce) was one of the first fans of Beatles and met Ringo Starr node Cavern Clubin 1962. Their romance blossomed quickly; they married in 1965 and had three children together. Linda Eastman (Saoirse Ronan) was a renowned photographer when she met Paul McCartney in 1967. The attraction was immediate, and McCartney later stated, ‘The first time I saw her, I just knew,’” the producers said in the statement.
“John Lennon met the Japanese artist Yoko Ono (Anna Sawai) at an exhibition of his work in London. Although Lennon was married at the time, he was immediately intrigued by Yokoand the two became inseparable creative partners for the rest of his life. Pattie Boyd (Aimee Lou Wood) was a successful model when, in 1964, she met George Harrison on the set of the film Beatles The Kings of Iê, Iê, Iê (1964). The two started dating and later got married, with Boyd sharing the growing interest of Harrison by Eastern mysticism.”
The producers also noted that the actors who will play other central characters in the Beatles — how Cynthia Lennon, Brian Epstein, George Martin, Ravi Shankar and other important roles — will be revealed later.
The biopics of Beatles will hit theaters from April 2028.
