Madonna debuted on the charts in 1984 and is now back with “Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones”; see all albums
Singer Madonna became the prima donna to register albums Top 10 on the Billboard 200 in every decade since 1980. The milestone was reached with 8th place with Finally enough love: 50 number ones in this week’s update.
According to Billboard, the other nine artists who have appeared in the Top 10 list over all these decades are all men, be they soloists or bands.
Madonna debuted on the Billboard 200 in October 1984. In that decade, she appeared five times in the selection, which includes titles such as Like a virgin And True Blue.
In the 90s there were seven more appearances, another six in the first decade of the 2000s and four in the 2010s. The current ranking is the 23rd in which one of his CDs appears in the top 10 of the list. The number is significant, but usually only conquered by men.
