Avicii’s estate sells 75% of the DJ’s music catalog; understand

Agreement to sell Avicii’s music catalog was made with Pophouse Entertainment, founded by ABBA member Björn Ulvaeus

Pophouse Entertainmentthe company responsible for the acquisition, announced the purchase of the recording and publication rights on the morning of this Wednesday, 28.

It is worth remembering how Bjorn Ulvaeusmember of ABBAis one of the founders of Pophouse Entertainment. This is the second major acquisition by the Stockholm, Sweden-based company, which bought the recording and publishing rights from the electronics group Swedish House Mafia on March 29, 2022.

As well as the agreement Swedish House Mafiawith avicii will be established as a joint partnership. That is, the family of the late DJ will work closely with pophouse and will retain the remaining 25% of the artist’s intellectual property. Both have collaborated on Avicii Experiencean interactive museum focused on the musician’s life in Stockholm.
