The meeting between band and comedian happened before. In 2021, during the band’s introduction to Rock Hall of Fame. In addition, they sang together in performances at the legendary Madison Square Garden in July of the same year.
About the tribute, Dave Grohl – leader of Foo Fighters – spoke to the audience at the beginning of the event: “This is the home show, so you need to make a lot of noise. What we really wanted to do was pay respect to taylor so that we could spend more time in his musical mind. Just like the London show, we all came together to celebrate the person who touched our lives, from afar or like all the friends, family and music heroes who are here tonight.”
