World Cup 2022: The Cure’s Robert Smith denies rumors of band’s opening ceremony performance

The Cure frontman said he hated “disappointing the fans”, in addition to betting on the possible winning selection of the 2022 World Cup

Robert Smith denied the rumors about the casting of the The Cure as one of the attractions for the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2022in Qatar. The information was confirmed by the singer of the British band through Twitter this Sunday, 13.

The tournament starts this Sunday, November 20th. So far, the concert of Jungkook, one of the singers of the South Korean band, is confirmed. BTS, at the stadium Al Bayt, in Doha. It is speculated that Shakira and black Eyed Peas will also be on stage, but FIFA has yet to confirm the names (via The globe).
