December’s selection of indie clips starts with post-punk guitars, goes through grunge and ends on the dance floor, moving from distortion to electronic beats.
Taking advantage of the fact that the month was “short” – there were practically no new releases after the 18th – the playlist also includes some recent clips that don’t “fit” into the last calculations.
Highlights are the new English post-punk singles by Public Body, the American grunge by the Bass Drums of Death trio, the shoegazer by the Canadian twins Softcult, the American grunge by Dosser and Bombshell (project by Sabrina Teitelbaum). Italian band New Testament and American singer Caroline Polachek and home to “rocker” Jamie xx (of the band xx) and rapper Shygirl, both from England.
As always, the videos are organized by sound affinity in a playlist: to view them on Smart TVs, look for Cast in the Chrome settings tab or More tools / Cast etc. in Edge. Some videos are a little older (September and October) to fit the sequence of songs and emphasize the impression of video recording. Try listening without skipping tracks on YouTube Premium (no commercials).
