Mac DeMarco had a ham snack in São Paulo and recommended the restaurant to anyone who comes to town
Mac DeMarco recalled a tour of São Paulo in an excerpt from the newsletter Perfectly Imperfect (via I have more records than friends). The musician passed by the cafeteria Estadãoin the Historic Center of São Paulo, and praised the famous ham sandwich there.
“Estadão is a small restaurant in downtown São Paulo, Brazil. It’s open 24 hours and is home to the best sandwich in the world. It’s called ‘pernil.’ It’s roasted pork on a French roll, it has cheese and if you ask for it they add a slice of pineapple. The place is also super cute, everyone wears a cool uniform, there’s fruit hanging from the ceiling and nice tiles,” he raved.

mac revealed, however, that certain options on the menu may not be good for the intestine if you are not used to it: “On the counter there are these jars of peppers dipped in olive oil, this will definitely give you diarrhea, but the taste is incredible.”
