To honor the legacy of Elza Soares in the national musical repertoire, Ecad (Central Office for Collection and Distribution) listed the songs that the singer most re-recorded by other composers
One year ago, on January 20th, one of the greatest icons of Brazilian popular music, Elza Soares left us, aged 91, due to natural causes. With a career that spanned 70 years, more than 30 albums released and thousands of fans impacted by her impressive voice, the artist continued to perform until the last moment.
With a remarkable voice, more than 30 albums and lyrics about racism, feminism and love, she has made an invaluable contribution to the national repertoire. For the occasion, the ecad (Central Collection and Distribution Office) carried out a study on this legacy of the artist, which has 930 recordings registered in the collective management of music in Brazil.

As a performer, the songs that Elza covered the most by other composers were “Trickster”authored by Jorge Aragon and Jotabe and “Got to bounce”of composers Magno de Oliveira and Joseph Baptist. Closing the podium, in the third position of the musical ranking is “In the skin”in Pitty.
In the last five years, Elza had more than 85% of her income in copyright coming from the segments of TVs, Radio and Shows. As determined by the Copyright Law (9.610 / 98), the artist’s heirs will continue to receive income related to her songs for 70 years after her death (or that of the last author, in the case of partnerships).
