Paul McCartney he went to try and recreate the famous Abbey Road pedestrian crossing, featured on the cover of the Beatles’ penultimate studio album, and he nearly failed.
In a video posted by the studio’s profile abbey road, which went viral on social media, McCartney is surprised by a car, which does not brake to let the singer cross the street. The beatle is forced to deviate and accelerate when he steps on the track, in order not to be run over. He crosses laughing, but without hiding his fear.
The comedy scene has surpassed 2.6 million views on Twitter and was made to promote the work of his daughter Mary.
Paul returned to the location of one of the most iconic images of the Beatles for the documentary ‘If These Walls Sing’, on the Abbey Road studio, directed by Mary McCartney for the Disney+ platform.
Paul’s daughter was born during the recording of the famous 1968 Beatles album and crawled around the studio in her first days of life. In addition to his father, he interviewed other notable rockers for the film, such as Elton John, Jimmy Page (of Led Zeppelin), Roger Waters and David Gilmour (of Pink Floyd), Noel and Liam Gallagher (of Oasis), and even the composer John Williams (from the “Star Wars” soundtrack), recording the stories of his most famous recordings on location.
Released last month, the film can be seen on Disney+.
