Natalia Segura, partner of Ignacio Baladán, reappeared on social media to describe how she experienced the 7.4-magnitude earthquake that shook Colombia on the morning of August 10, with its epicenter in San José del Palmar, Chocó.
The influencer said the intense shaking filled her with fear and that her first thought was of her young son Lucca, whom she has with Baladán. She said she was searching for a robe to put on and could only think of her son.

Segura said the earthquake caught her in the bathroom, brushing her teeth after just getting up. She said she had never felt such a strong tremor, and that her legs began shaking so badly she could barely move or walk.
What happened in the bathroom
Segura explained that Baladán was already with their son, whom she calls "gordi," because he had just woken up, while she was in the bathroom brushing her teeth when she noticed the glass items in the room starting to move.
Amid the fear, she said she began worrying about Lucca and recalled an instruction she had once given her partner for an emergency. She said she had told him that if a strong tremor or earthquake ever happened, God forbid, he should run with their son and not wait for her.
Why she could not move
Segura said one of the most worrying moments came when she tried to react to the quake but her legs would not respond and she could not walk. She attributed this to a chronic condition in which her nervous system, when it senses fear or intense nervousness, sharply increases her muscle spasticity and triggers clonus, an involuntary body movement.
Segura said her relatives are safe and expressed concern for people affected by the earthquake. She wrote on her Instagram stories that she was watching the news, that many people had been affected, and asked her followers to tell her if she could help in any way using her social media.
