Below Deck Mediterranean reality television star Nathan Gallagher was arrested in Australia in December 2025 following an alleged domestic violence altercation with a woman.
Officers from the Ryde Police Area Command arrested the 27-year-old Australian native at a unit complex at around 8:45 a.m. on Dec. 27, 2025. Authorities allege that Gallagher assaulted a 29-year-old woman known to him at the same premises the previous day.
Following his arrest, Gallagher was taken to Gladesville Police Station. E! News confirmed his identity as the suspect through a New South Wales Apprehended Violence Application filed in court. Police charged Gallagher with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally choking a person without consent, and common assault.
According to police, the woman did not suffer serious injuries during the incident. Gallagher, who is now 28 years old, is scheduled to appear back in court on Sept. 1. E! News reached out to Gallagher and Bravo for comment, but neither responded immediately.
Personal Life and Season 11
The reported legal issues arise alongside recent personal milestones for the former deckhand. In June, Gallagher and former Below Deck Mediterranean co-star Gael Cameron celebrated the first birthday of their son, Kayden, born in 2025 between seasons nine and 10 of the Bravo series.
Gallagher returned for season 11 of Below Deck Mediterranean in his new role as bosun, while Cameron relocated to Croatia with their infant to remain close to him. Gallagher spoke about balancing work and parenting on a recent episode, stating: "I do know it's going to be difficult. Look, I'm still trying to find my feet in the bosun role. And I'm also just trying to find my feet in this new dad role. I want to be a good partner. I mean, moral of the story is: I feel f--king pressure."
Cameron, a former bosun herself who met Gallagher aboard the yacht Mustique in 2024, celebrated her 30th birthday on May 14 while reflecting on their relationship. In a post on Instagram, Cameron wrote: "If you asked 20 year old me where I'd be at 30, I definitely wouldn't have said here. It hasn't been an easy journey, but I'm proud of the things I've overcome and continue to learn from my mistakes. My mother always taught me that no matter what I do in life, to always lead with kindness."
She added: "I'm endlessly grateful for all the people who have stood by me through every chapter, and for all the experiences, lessons, and opportunities life has given me. And now, getting to step into this next decade with my little boy, my best friend, feels like the greatest gift of all. Here's to the next 30 years."
Below Deck Mediterranean airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on Bravo, a cable network known for its unscripted reality television programming. Below Deck follows the lives of crew members working aboard luxury superyachts during charter seasons.
Memorable Below Deck Crew Departures
Gallagher's legal troubles join a long history of drama and exits across the Below Deck franchise. Over its various spin-off series, multiple crew members have been dismissed by yacht captains for performance issues, misconduct, and safety violations.
On season 10 of Below Deck, substitute Captain Sandy Yawn fired stew Camille Lamb following ongoing complaints from Chief Stew Fraser Olender. Lamb was let go after drinking on duty while preparing for a charter and partying late into the night. Captain Sandy noted at the time: "She's the common denominator in all of this. Great girl, great personality, but at the same time, we have to do what's best for the boat."
On Below Deck Adventure, deckhand Kyle Dickard left after three episodes following its November 2022 premiere. Captain Kerry Titheradge offered Dickard the chance to resign rather than face firing after Dickard picked fights with deckhand Nathan Morley and kissed crewmates in front of charter guests. Dickard accepted the offer and departed after one charter.
During season seven of Below Deck Mediterranean, Captain Sandy fired bosun Raygan Tyler after the yacht took a small hit while docking and Tyler struggled with leadership responsibilities. Captain Sandy told her: "If I had the time and I wasn't running a boat this size, I would train you. I would teach you."
Dismissals for Incidents and Misconduct
On Below Deck, stew Elizabeth Frankini was let go due to onboard romances, failure to follow instructions, and a hazardous laundry room incident where she mixed bleach and laundry soap. Frankini told E! News in December 2020: "Unfortunately, I didn't know that was so toxic and I feel so bad about it. You know, I do feel really bad, especially 'cause Francesca [Rubi] did say, 'Take it outside.'"
Captain Jason Chambers dismissed both bosun Luke Jones and stew Laura Bileskaine on Below Deck Down Under following inappropriate behavior after a night of drinking. Jones entered the bed of unconscious stew Margot Sisson while naked, while Bileskaine made unwanted advances toward deckhand Adam Kodra. Captain Chambers emphasized the necessity of consent before firing both crew members.
On season six of Below Deck Mediterranean, stew Lexi Wilson was terminated by Captain Sandy following a heated dinner confrontation with Chef Mathew Shea, during which Wilson told Shea his parents "should've aborted you."
Safety oversights have also led to swift departures. Deckhand Tom Pearson was let go from Below Deck Sailing Yacht by Captain Glenn Shephard after failing to report that the boat's anchor was dragging during severe winds. Captain Glenn explained on Watch What Happens Live: "It had to be done. It was such a grievous thing that he dropped the ball there, he had to go, and we had to just be man down and live with it, you know? So, obviously, you don't want to do that, but yeah, it had to happen."
Further Franchise Exits
Chef Ryan McKeown was dismissed from Below Deck Down Under by Captain Jason Chambers after criticizing charter guest food requests and arguing with leadership. Upon leaving the vessel, McKeown mooned Captain Jason and the camera crew. Fellow Below Deck Down Under stew Magda Ziomek was also replaced by Chief Stew Aesha Scott before the end of the charter season due to excessive phone and video calls with her boyfriend during work hours.
In June 2020, Bravo terminated Below Deck Mediterranean cast member Peter Hunziker after he posted offensive content on social media. Bravo and production company 51 Minds stated: "Peter Hunziker of Below Deck Mediterranean has been terminated for his racist post. Bravo and 51 Minds are editing the show to minimize his appearance for subsequent episodes."
Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier was let go during season five of Below Deck Mediterranean after bosun Malia White discovered undeclared Valium and a vape pen in her quarters. Ferrier told E! News in an August 2020 interview: "If I could do it all over again, I would've just declared them as soon as I came on board. It was definitely not something that was intentional. I wasn't trying to hide anything."
Season six stew Delaney Evans was dismissed from Below Deck Mediterranean after one charter by Chief Stew Katie Flood. Evans told Bravo Insider: "I think she was overwhelmed with the situation, and I think that, you know, in her mind, the best solution to the situation was just to go back to what they had before. I think she was just overwhelmed with everything that was going on and all the feedback she was getting."
Performance and Kitchen Discharges
Other deckhands terminated for performance issues include Shane Coopersmith on Below Deck season eight, who lacked basic skills, arrived late, and napped on duty. Chris Brown was fired during season five by Captain Lee Rosbach for failing to perform his duties, leaving the yacht while stating, "Who gives a s--t?"
Galley issues led to additional chef terminations. On season three of Below Deck, Captain Lee fired Chef Leon Walker after an oven fire broke out on board. On season four of Below Deck Mediterranean, Captain Sandy fired Chef Mila Kolomeitseva over poor culinary performance, including not-so-nice nachos. Kolomeitseva later said: "Of course it makes me feel awful. People like me who have big egos sometimes have to be put down to earth a little bit. But it makes me feel like I want to work even harder."
Bosun Chandler Brooks was also let go during season six of Below Deck by Captain Lee, who told the bosun: "I don't think it's a good fit."
