NBC Confirms 'The Voice' Celebrity Edition for 2027

NBC has confirmed it will air the first celebrity edition of "The Voice" in the United States in 2027, bringing a famous-contestant twist to the singing competition that airs in Spain under the Atresmedia banner.

NBC has named Joe Jonas, Queen Latifah and Riley Green as coaches for the celebrity edition, which will be hosted by actress and singer Keke Palmer. Sources at the Spanish media group, based in San Sebastian de los Reyes, told LA RAZON that a celebrity version could also be an option in Spain, leaving the door open to a new direction for a format that has become one of Antena 3's biggest hits.

How the celebrity format works

The new US version will let viewers see more of the inner workings of the competition, including rehearsals and the reactions of contestants as their fellow competitors perform. The approach adds a new element to the show and aims to reveal a more personal side of the contestants. There is no confirmation yet of a similar celebrity version in Spain, though the possibility remains open.

Melendi returns to Antena 3's 'La Voz'

In Spain, Antena 3 has already begun preparing its next edition of "La Voz." Singer Melendi is returning as lead coach for the 2026 edition, five years after his last stint on the show, a comeback the article likens to Jose Mourinho's return to Real Madrid.

Melendi and Lola Indigo are the two big signings for the new season of the Antena 3 singing contest. Lola Indigo, a singer from Granada, is moving up to the adult edition after appearing on "La Voz Kids" in 2024 and 2025.

The coaching panel also keeps Pablo Lopez and Mika in their chairs, while Eva Gonzalez continues as host. Antena 3 said all four coaches know the show's format well and will once again lead the Blind Auditions, in which they compete to sign the most promising contestants to their teams.

Strong ratings for the Spanish show

The talent show returns on the back of strong audience figures. Its last edition was the top choice on Friday nights, with a 13.5% audience share, drawing more than a million average viewers and reaching over 3.4 million unique viewers each week.

The format also performs well with young audiences, posting strong numbers among viewers aged 13 to 24. "La Voz" is produced by Atresmedia together with ITV Studios Iberia and is part of an international franchise broadcast in dozens of countries, making it one of Spanish television's biggest entertainment successes.
