Streaming platforms including Disney+, Netflix and Movistar Plus+ are releasing a broad lineup of new movie premieres from August 31 to September 6, 2026.
The incoming titles mark the monthly calendar change with a heavy slate of science fiction blockbusters, original action thrillers, intimate music documentaries and classic feature films across digital services.
Movistar Plus+ is adding the action feature film Novocaine, starring Jack Quaid as Nathan Caine. Caine lives with a rare genetic disorder that makes him immune to physical pain. When the girl of his dreams, played by Amber Midthunder, is taken hostage during a bank robbery, he turns his affliction into an unexpected strength to rescue her.
Movistar Plus+ is a major Spanish subscription television service owned by telecommunications group Telefonica. Quaid is an American actor known for his roles in film and television, while Midthunder is an American actress recognised for her work in action and drama productions.
Disney+ is adding Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu to its streaming library. The story follows the duo as they embark on their most exciting mission to date with the evil Empire fallen. As the fledgling New Republic struggles to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, it enlists the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin, played by Pedro Pascal, and his young apprentice Grogu.
Disney+ is the subscription streaming platform operated by The Walt Disney Company and serves as the home for Lucasfilm Star Wars releases. Pascal is a Chilean-American actor who plays the lead character in the live-action series.
Netflix and Music Features
Netflix is highlighting the documentary feature Fito Páez: El mundo cabe en una canción, produced in Argentina. Presented through an intimate, first-person narrative, the film shows the artist revisiting the most significant moments of his life and career with an honesty and closeness that no previous production had achieved.
Netflix is a global subscription video-on-demand platform based in the United States. Páez is a celebrated Argentine rock musician, singer-songwriter and pianist who has been a leading figure in Latin American music since the 1980s.

The release calendar opens on September 1 with classic feature films and documentaries. Netflix is adding the war film El puente sobre el río Kwai and the music documentary Becoming Led Zeppelin, while SkyShowtime is adding all three films in the Regreso al futuro trilogy: Regreso al futuro, Regreso al futuro II, and Regreso al futuro III.
El puente sobre el río Kwai, known internationally as The Bridge on the River Kwai, is a landmark 1957 WWII film directed by David Lean. Regreso al futuro is the Spanish title for Back to the Future, the classic sci-fi comedy franchise directed by Robert Zemeckis. Led Zeppelin was an influential English rock group formed in London in 1968.
On September 2, Disney+ is launching Star Wars: The Mandalorian y Grogu alongside LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian. The same day brings documentary feature Momentos decisivos: Generación 11-S to Netflix, action drama The Runner to Prime Video, and romance feature Este amor sí que duele to Movistar Plus+.
Releases on September 3 include Fito Páez: El mundo cabe en una canción and Gandhari on Netflix, as well as Novia a la fuerza on Movistar Plus+.
A large group of titles arrives on September 4. Apple TV+ is releasing Mayday, Netflix is debuting Bajo tus pies, and Movistar Plus+ is adding Novocaine. Independent platform Filmin is premiering three titles: The Designer is Dead, Manas, and Yo no moriré de amor.
The weekly schedule concludes on September 6, when Movistar Plus+ adds Un muerto a la hora del té to its platform.
