Nicole Kidman has revealed she will have to come up with a new disguise for her secret Ibiza raves after accidentally giving away her clubbing cover on live television.
The 59-year-old actress made the admission on The Tonight Show this week, during an exchange with host Jimmy Fallon about the Spanish party island.
Fallon, who said he had never been to Ibiza, asked Kidman what people do there. "Well, I just feel like I wouldn't fit in there, would I? What do we do in Ibiza?" he said. "Dance. Go out to raves," Kidman replied.
A stunned Fallon shot back: "You go out to raves? Nicole Kidman?" "Yes, does anyone else here go?" she said, laughing as she asked the studio audience.
Fallon then asked whether she went to the raves as herself or in disguise. Kidman explained that she had already blown her own cover in an earlier interview. "I gave away my cover. I did an interview where I said I wear a little black wig, or some sort of disguise and I go out, yeah," she said. "So I'll have to wear something different."
Fallon, taken aback, offered to join her: "No way, I would totally do that with you, yeah." Kidman quipped back, "You don't have to do it with me."
Kidman, an Academy Award-winning actress known for films including Moulin Rouge! and the television series Big Little Lies, is one of the most recognisable faces in Hollywood, which makes keeping a low profile on the party island a particular challenge.
Her Ibiza Holiday Routine
Last month, Kidman gave British Vogue a detailed breakdown of what a trip to Ibiza looks like for her. "It's a small dinner party or it's a rave. I'm either playing Scrabble or I'm out. It's that simple," she said.
She went on to describe the rave option in detail: "Dinner at 10.30pm, club at 1am. I'll put on glasses. Sometimes I'll wear a wig to hide, a little dark wig, and then I can just dance. As long as I'm surrounded by people, like, I take people with me, then I'm fine. I need it."
Charli XCX's Surprise Guest
In the same British Vogue interview, Kidman spoke about attending a New York show on Charli xcx's Brat tour. Charli xcx, the British singer behind the 2024 album Brat, later described her shock at seeing the actress in the crowd. "She came to my show in New York when I was on the Brat tour. I couldn't believe she came. Like the Nicole Kidman is at my show... what the f*ck?" she said.
A 'Person of Extremes'
Kidman has spoken about her love of dancing before. In a 2024 People interview, she described herself as shy and not particularly extroverted, but said she goes to raves because she wants to "lose it" while dancing. She also said she still prefers small, intimate dinner parties or hanging out at friends' houses, echoing what she later told British Vogue.
Soon after the 2024 GQ Men of the Year event, presenter Amelia Dimoldenberg asked Kidman whether she meant a warehouse rave. Kidman confirmed that she did, explaining that she is "a person of extremes" and is specifically into techno music.
