Oasis confirmed on Monday that they will return to the stage in 2027 for a series of 38 new shows, including 11 nights at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester and four dates at Knebworth, the site of their era-defining 1996 concerts.
Brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher will play the new dates after the success of their comeback tour in 2025, which saw them reunite following a 15-year break from live performing.
A statement posted on X mocked the brash criticism the band once received from music journalist Simon Price, who Oasis referred to as "The Most Damaging Pop Cultural Force In Recent British History". It read: "START THE CELEBRATIONS!!!! After a period of reflection 'The Most Damaging Pop Cultural Force In Recent British History' has declared itself fit for purpose and will once again return to lift the spirits of the people. Come witness the fitness. It shall be a sight to behold."
The statement continued: "Oasis will tour the UK, mainland Europe, USA and Ireland in 2027! For your chance to buy tickets you must register by 17th Sept, 4pm BST."
Beyond Manchester and Knebworth, the band will play five nights in Glasgow, plus shows in Munich, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Rome, Paris, Boston, Las Vegas and Slane Castle in Ireland.
Brit rocker Richard Ashcroft, who joined Oasis on their Live '25 tour, has reportedly been asked back to perform as their support act. The Verve singer is said to be among several musicians warming up crowds across the tour dates.
Ticket prices and registration
This time there will be no dynamic pricing, after the system caused uproar among fans during the first tour when many ended up paying significantly more than expected for tickets. Standard ticket prices will be fixed and range between £71 and £266, it was revealed on Monday.
Fans will have a chance to register for tickets, and those who are successful will be given a code allowing them to buy tickets.
How the tour was teased
Last week the pair teased the announcement with a drone display in Manchester, showing the band's logo in lights alongside the date 14/09/26 and the time 4pm BST.
At the start of September, eagle-eyed fans also noticed a number of clues hidden in two posters that dropped on the band's Instagram page hinting at the dates. One clip showed a boy in a blue raincoat bouncing a football seven times while a friend chalked 11 strikes onto a brick wall, which followers linked to "Blue Moon above the door" and "11 nights at Etihad".
Fans also said they spotted Knebworth shirts on a washing line in the clip, and a separate clip of the two boys in a chip shop sparked further speculation, with one follower writing: "Love the mystery, clue vibe. Very 94 Release Cover-Art coded as the kids say now."
Others said numbers on a poster corresponded to the coordinates of Celtic Park in Glasgow, while "SOL FM" was shorthand for Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
A remarkable comeback
The announcement marks the next chapter in one of the most remarkable comebacks in British music history, after the brothers put aside years of bitter animosity to reunite. Oasis had not performed together since their acrimonious split in 2009, when Noel walked out of the band following a backstage row with Liam at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris.
When the comeback was announced in August 2024, demand was extraordinary. The original run of 14 shows in Britain and Ireland was repeatedly extended as millions of fans tried to secure tickets, with extra dates added amid what the band described as "phenomenal" demand.
Knebworth holds particular significance for the band. Tickets for their 1996 concerts there, still regarded as a defining moment of the era, cost £22.50.
New documentary and reconciliation
It has been a busy month for the Gallaghers, who were at the Venice Film Festival to promote their new documentary, Oasis: Don't Look Back In Anger, which chronicles the band's split and reconciliation while following them on their reunion tour. The film also features their first joint interview in more than 20 years.
The film was released in cinemas on Wednesday, and fans shared their reactions on X. One wrote: "Bawling over the oasis documentary it's so over." Another said: "On a brighter note, the Oasis documentary is 10/10." A third wrote: "Finally got to see the film and my heart is so full it could explode. I love this band more than life itself. LONG LIVE OASIS."
Filmmakers said the Gallaghers were barely on speaking terms when filming began during rehearsals for the tour, and the brothers travelled separately. Tour promoters, unusually, only paid the pair once they had completed all 41 dates, given their history of conflict. As the tour progressed, their relationship improved and their children met each other for the first time in many years.
Why the band split
Liam and Noel's tumultuous relationship saw Oasis break up 17 years ago after backstage bust-ups, walk-outs and numerous booze-fuelled arguments. A dressing room feud in Paris tore the band apart in 2009.
At the time, Noel said in a statement: "It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer."
In a further statement titled Tales From The Middle Of Nowhere, he added: "I feel you have the right to know that the level of verbal and violent intimidation towards me, my family, friends and comrades has become intolerable. And the lack of support and understanding from my management and band mates has left me with no other option than to get me cape and seek pastures new."
In the years that followed, the brothers traded insults in interviews and on social media before their reunion.
