Oklahoma Man Buys 2016 Tesla Model X at Auction for $9,500

An Oklahoma resident and creator of YouTube channel The Car Addict bought a 2016 Tesla Model X 90D electric crossover at auction for $9,500, Supercar Blondie reported. The non-refundable purchase left the blogger expecting the worst before driving the 10-year-old vehicle home.

An initial inspection showed the exterior in very good condition, while the interior was clean despite some wear. Automatic doors worked properly and software updates remained available, though the screen was peeling and the car had minor cosmetic defects. Free lifetime Supercharging did not transfer to the new owner, and the odometer read 144,757 miles (232,964 kilometers).

Vehicle Performance and Battery

During a 37-kilometer test drive, the electric crossover delivered excellent acceleration and braking. Adaptive cruise control functioned properly, though it eventually drifted too close to the lane divider line. Average energy consumption reached about 239 Wh/km, which the publication called impressive for a decade-old electric car.

The blogger said the driving range remains fairly good, though he plans to replace the battery pack. In a separate purchase, YouTube creator OGS & Mechanics spent $6,000 on a Tesla Model S in Britain that proved worse than expected and required costly repairs.
