The Traitors winner Rachel Duffy has undergone surgery on her right hand after suffering a severe injury in a kitchen blender accident at home.
The 42-year-old BBC reality television star revealed she severed her dorsal nerve and partially lacerated a tendon during the domestic mishap two weeks ago.
Following the emergency operation, the mother of three now faces ten weeks in a cast to allow her right hand to heal properly.
Blender accident and hospital treatment
Explaining the scary ordeal on Instagram on Saturday, Duffy told followers that she was forced to make a hurried trip to hospital immediately after the incident occurred.
"There's always one friend in every group that's accident prone, that would be me," she remarked. "Two weeks ago I had an accident with a blender blade which resulted in a trip to A&E."
She added: "Yes I'm in flip flops and jammie bottoms as I ran out the door with a blood soaked tea towel wrapped around my hand."

Following her initial treatment at Accident and Emergency, Duffy was forced to visit A&E multiple times after suffering with severe pain and numbness in her thumb.
Before sharing photos of her medical treatment online, she warned squeamish fans to look away. She then posted images of her bruised and bloodied stitches, which she joked look like a "Harry Potter scar".
Reflecting on how the accident happened, Duffy urged her followers to take extra care when using new kitchen appliances.
"Oopsie daisy. Everydays a school day!!! The lesson learned in this little bump in the road.....take the time to read the instructions on a new kitchen blender," she captioned her post.
She also expressed her gratitude to the medical team who treated her hand, adding: "A big thank you to the medical staff who looked after me over the past couple of weeks. You are absolute angels. Thank goodness I'm a leftie."

Surgical recovery and injury details

The domestic accident comes months after Duffy spoke publicly about navigating personal loss alongside sudden television fame.
Earlier this year, she won half of the £47,000 prize pot on the BBC competition series The Traitors, sharing the win with co-contestant Stephen Libby.
During her time on the show, Duffy shared that she planned to spend her share of the prize money making memories with her mother, Anne, including taking her on holiday.
Her mother had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at the age of 47 and suffered from dementia in her final years.

The Traitors victory and personal loss
Tragically, Anne passed away just days after the final of The Traitors, leaving Duffy struggling through what she described as the "most difficult moment of her life" while catapulted into the public eye.
"The timing was tough. I'd just won the show, then she passed away. I couldn't even celebrate with her," Duffy said of her mother's death.
She added: "I felt like the whole world knew my business, and that was hard because at the same time I was trying to navigate one of the most difficult moments of my life. But the support was phenomenal."
In a statement posted to Instagram following her mother's death, Duffy wrote: "Thank you Mummy, thank you for loving us so much. Thank you for teaching us our worth."
Health outlook and tribute to her mother
Duffy explained that she stays strong by reminding herself how much her mother would have loved her daughter's new life in the spotlight.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said her mother's diagnosis at age 47, just four years older than Duffy is now, changed her entire outlook on life.
"You can look after your body, which I do, I don't smoke, do drugs, I don't drink much, and I eat healthily and exercise. But you don't know what's coming round the corner," she explained. "If you have a positive mindset, try to be healthy and enjoy life, that's all you can do."
