The fourth season of legal drama Reasonable Doubt will premiere on October 6 on Hulu in the United States, with three episodes available on launch day before shifting to a weekly Tuesday release schedule. The series streams on Disney+ in international markets including Spain, where new episodes are expected to arrive on the same date.
Streaming platform Hulu confirmed the premiere date alongside initial images from the upcoming season, announcing on social media that court is back in session and calling the new episodes personal.
The fourth season picks up following a violent attack that leaves attorney Jax Stewart, her family, and her newly launched practice, The Stewart Firm, deeply affected. As the firm struggles under heavy pressure to remain operational, one of its most loyal clients becomes embroiled in a media crisis that threatens the future of the enterprise.
New cases and cast additions
The new storyline centers on Eric Cropper, a wealthy R&B artist accustomed to getting whatever he wants. Musician and actor Durrell "Tank" Babbs joins the main cast as a series regular to portray Cropper, whose situation forces Stewart and her team to navigate the case with extreme caution to protect their reputation.
Legal dramas focusing on court battles are a longstanding fixture of television programming. Reasonable Doubt distinguishes itself within the genre by centering on the personal and professional experiences of a Black female lead navigating a high-pressure legal career in the United States.
District attorney and expanding cast
Actress Meagan Good joins the fourth season as district attorney Regina Harris, described as a compassionate prosecutor who is fully aware of how her work functions. The expanded cast also includes La La Anthony as Melina Cropper, the first wife of the R&B singer, and Taylor Polidore Williams as his second wife, Brooke.
DeVaughn Nixon joins the show as the younger brother of the R&B artist, alongside Rutina Wesley as entertainment journalist Desiree Grant. Actress Alexxis Lemire has also been cast in a role that has not yet been disclosed.
