The 76-year-old actor and his 28-year-old co-star wore matching baby-blue blouses during the on-location shoot. At 5-foot-10, the former teen model appeared taller than Gere.

Asymmetry is a big-screen adaptation of Lisa Halliday's 2018 novel. The book landed on the New York Times list of the most remarkable books of the 21st century.

The film tells a May-December love story set during the dawn of the Iraq War. Gere plays 70-year-old world-renowned author Ezra Blazer, who embarks on a secret affair with 25-year-old editorial assistant Alice, played by Silvers.

The film's logline said their one moment of eye contact in Central Park sparks a connection that leads them down a life-changing rabbit hole. They create a private world just for two.

Producer Stacey Snider said Asymmetry tells an unconventional love story that explores an improbable connection between two people at very different stages in their lives. She said the film challenges preconceptions about love and power.

Production and upcoming projects

Production began in early July, and the age-gap love story will be released in 2027. Intimacy coordinator Nicole Callender was hired to oversee the love scenes between Gere and Silvers.

Edward Zwick is the writer, producer and director. The 73-year-old Oscar-winning producer previously directed Glory in 1989, ABC's Thirtysomething from 1987 to 1991, Legends of the Fall in 1994, and Courage Under Fire in 1996.

The Daily Mail reached out to representatives for Gere and Silvers but did not immediately hear back.

Before Asymmetry releases, audiences can catch Silvers as Emily in Alec Griffen Roth's showbiz drama Billy Knight. The Space Force alum stars alongside Charlie Heaton, Al Pacino and Patrick Schwarzenegger in the movie, which hits United States theaters on August 21.

Silvers is also a musician who pulls 10,169 monthly listeners on Spotify. She is scheduled to perform live on October 17 at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston, Massachusetts.

Gere's other upcoming projects include the eight-episode Apple TV limited series The Off Weeks. He will also star in Ben Younger's plane survival thriller Left Seat.

The Golden Globe winner is best known for his roles in American Gigolo in 1980, An Officer and a Gentleman in 1982, and The Cotton Club in 1984. His other credits include Pretty Woman in 1990, Primal Fear in 1996, Chicago in 2002, and I'm Not There in 2007.
