Actor Scott Wolf has shown public support for his estranged wife Kelley Wolf after she posted an Instagram apology for putting her family through a nightmare during a summer 2025 mental health crisis, which she revealed was caused by drug-induced mania and psychosis.
Scott, 58, responded to his 49-year-old estranged wife on Friday by leaving a string of red heart emojis in the comment section of her social media post. The Daily Mail reached out to Wolf for comment regarding the response but has not yet received a reply.
Scott Wolf is an American actor best known for his starring role as Bailey Salinger in the television drama Party of Five. He married Kelley Wolf, a life coach and former reality television personality who appeared on MTV's The Real World: New Orleans, in May 2004. The couple share three children: sons Jackson, 17, and Miller, 13, and daughter Lucy, 12.
In an elaborate social media statement shared on Friday, Kelley revealed that her public outbursts in 2025 were triggered by a severe medical condition. She explained that doctors diagnosed her with breakthrough drug-induced mania with psychosis following a year of psychiatric care.
Kelley admitted that nothing she said during her manic episode was based in truth or reality. She described the emotional toll of the crisis, writing that she felt like her brain had been hijacked while the world was moving at the speed of a freight train.
"Wow… I have taken about 100 deep breaths to write this. How do I even start? It's been a year since I recognized what everyone around me could see: I was not well, and I needed help," Kelley wrote in her message. She noted that the statement came months after the couple reunited for a family day at Universal Studios in Los Angeles.
Medical Diagnosis and Apology
Explaining how the condition developed, Kelley wrote that after a year of working with incredible doctors, therapists, psychologists, and healers, she finally gained an answer. She stated that what she experienced was diagnosed as breakthrough drug-induced mania with psychosis caused by stress, past trauma, hormonal shifts, and hallucinogens mixed with prescribed medications, calling it a perfect storm.
Kelley expressed deep regret for the disruption her condition caused to those around her. "I had no awareness of my actions," Kelley admitted in Friday's post, adding that she had been completely delusional. "I won't recount all of the chaos, but what has burdened my soul is my need to say… I am so sorry," she wrote.
Addressing her husband directly, Kelley described the impact her illness had on him. "My husband of 20 years was taken through a nightmare that wouldn't even fly in a movie script; it was so brutal," she wrote. She added that the things she did, wrote, and posted caused profound harm and pain to the people she loves most.
Kelley acknowledged how her behaviour shifted during the illness, writing that her brain turned on her. "In my illness, I made accusations and did things that make me shudder. I have spent my life believing in love, hope, kindness and compassion. What I became was the opposite: Cruel. Vicious. Mean… In mania and psychosis, people can attack the ones they love the most and believe grand and delusional ideas," she wrote.
Legal History and Arrest
The apology follows a tumultuous series of events that began when Scott filed for divorce from Kelley in June 2025 after 21 years of marriage. Days after the court filing, the mother of three was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold at a hospital in Utah after a friend expressed concern for her mental health.
That same month, Scott filed court documents in Utah seeking a restraining order against Kelley and entered a declaration with the court, Us Weekly reported at the time. Scott subsequently dropped the restraining order the following month, in July 2025.
In August 2025, the former MTV star was arrested for alleged online harassment and doxxing of friends and family members, including her husband. She was charged with one count of electronic communications harassment and two counts of electronic disclosure of personal identifying information, all misdemeanors.
Following the legal action, Scott gained temporary sole custody of their three children, alongside a protective order against Kelley. Kelley subsequently chose to enter a mental health treatment facility in September 2025 to undergo recovery.

Kelley shared details of her treatment plan during a court hearing prior to entering the facility. "My brother is taking me. It's fantastic. It's a great place. I recommended it all the time as a mental health professional myself, so September 12, I will be there for a month. I hope that helps," she told the court.
In her Friday statement, Kelley reflected on the lasting impact of her actions, stating she will never be the same after causing enormous pain. "Scott and my kids… There won't be a day that I don't thank God for you. Causing you pain and being the reason you suffered will haunt me for the rest of my life," she wrote.
Kelley thanked her husband for standing by her during her mental health crisis. "It was my job to protect you, honor you, and keep you safe, and I became the cause of your heartbreak. I am sorry. You never gave up on me, and you fought like hell until you landed me in safe harbor. I owe you my life," she wrote.

Despite their ongoing divorce, Scott and Kelley Wolf reunited with their three children on February 20, 2026, for a family outing at Universal Studios in Los Angeles, California.
