Colombian superstar Shakira will lead a packed autumn concert schedule in Spain with a 12-date venue residency in Madrid through September and October. The performances headline the final stretch of the year in a Spanish live music calendar featuring intense venue activity but relatively few global stadium tours until 2027.
The residency at the outdoor Iberdrola Music space in Madrid will feature a purpose-built stadium and surrounding temporary city constructed specifically for the shows. With a capacity of roughly 50,000 spectators per night, the concerts are scheduled for September 18, 19, 20, 25, 26 and 27, followed by October 2, 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11, helping ease the country's transition from summer into autumn.
The Madrid run will mark the grand finale of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, which has become the highest-grossing Latin music tour in history. The announcement follows four stadium shows in Spain by Canadian R and B singer The Weeknd, who completed his final performance on Tuesday in Barcelona.
Shakira leads a wide selection of Latin American performers scheduled to visit Spanish stages over the coming months. Argentine duo Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso bring their Free Spirits World Tour to the Palau Sant Jordi arena in Barcelona on September 10 before performing at Madrid's Movistar Arena on September 17. The tour comes as fan momentum for the pair appears somewhat more moderate than a year ago.
Fellow Argentine rapper Trueno will also visit both major cities, performing at Palau Sant Jordi on October 13 and Movistar Arena on October 21. Puerto Rican reggaeton artist Yandel will present his Sinfonico concert show at Movistar Arena on November 13 and 14.
Colombian pop-rock band Morat will deliver stadium-scale performances across nine dates in Spain. Their tour includes back-to-back nights at Palau Sant Jordi on October 16 and 17, as well as a show at the Roig Arena in Valencia on October 23.
Adding poetic diversity to the Latin lineup, Cuban singer Silvio Rodriguez will play eight concerts across Spain. His dates include a September 5 performance at the Principe Felipe venue in Zaragoza and consecutive shows at Fibes in Seville on September 25 and 26.
Nostalgic Rock Acts and Alternative Icons Return
International rock tours visiting Spain feature nostalgia-focused projects from major figures of 1990s alternative music. Billy Corgan, frontman of American rock band The Smashing Pumpkins, will perform an operatic reinterpretation of the group's landmark 1995 album Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness at Palacio Vistalegre in Madrid on September 11 and 12.
British alternative rock band Placebo will mark 30 years since their formation with an anniversary tour stopping at Madrid's Movistar Arena on September 30 and Barcelona's Sant Jordi Club on October 3. American rock duo The Black Keys will play Movistar Arena on September 13.
Veteran English hard rock group Deep Purple will perform at Palau Sant Jordi on October 19 and Movistar Arena on October 20. American rock band The Strokes, promoting a new album and celebrating 25 years since they were hailed as rock resuscitators, will perform with singer Julian Casablancas at Palau Sant Jordi on October 20.
Canadian singer Bryan Adams brings his hit collection to seven Spanish cities, opening at Palacio de los Deportes in Murcia on November 7. His tour includes performances at the BEC! arena in Bilbao on November 13 and the Coliseum in A Coruna on November 16.
Gothic Rock, Blues, Emo and Electronic Performers Join Lineup
Alternative rock subgenres will also feature across Spanish venues this autumn. American gothic rock band Evanescence will play Palau Olimpic in Badalona near Barcelona on October 1, followed by a show at Palacio Vistalegre in Madrid on October 2.
Blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa performs at Palacio Vistalegre on November 7 before playing Sant Jordi Club in Barcelona on November 8. German group Tokio Hotel brings their emo-influenced sound to Palacio Vistalegre on November 23, while nu metal group Papa Roach performs at the same Madrid venue on December 4.
Former One Direction member Niall Horan takes his solo tour to Palau Sant Jordi on October 25. British electronic act Jungle will bring their sound influenced by Black music styles to Movistar Arena on October 26 and Palau Sant Jordi on October 28.
Domestic Spanish Acts Launch New Tours and Final Shows
Domestic Spanish music stars are maintaining active schedules throughout the country. Artists continuing existing tours include Aitana with her Cuarto azul show, alongside Pablo Alboran, Dani Fernandez, Dani Martin, Amaia, La M.O.D.A., Antonio Orozco, and Taburete. Singer Ivan Ferreiro performs hits dating back to his time with rock group Los Piratas, while veteran Spanish performers Miguel Rios, Victor Manuel and Raphael remain active on stage.
Several Spanish artists are opening new tour itineraries this season. Melendi begins his tour at the Granada bullring on October 2, indie band Carolina Durante plays Pop CAAC in Seville on September 19, and Uruguayan-born musician Jorge Drexler opens at Movistar Arena on September 26. Rock singer Bunbury launches his Nuevas mutaciones 2 tour with four dates, concluding in Zaragoza on December 12.
Spanish rock group Vetusta Morla will return to live performance after completing a self-imposed band break. The group will play ten dates starting at Palau Sant Jordi on October 2, stopping at Navarra Arena on October 24 and Auditorio Municipal Cortijo de Torres in Malaga on October 31, before concluding with three consecutive nights in Madrid from November 19 to 21.
Multiple Spanish acts will conclude acclaimed tours at Madrid's Movistar Arena. Singer Leiva finishes his tour on September 30, Guitarricadelafuente wraps up on October 2, and pop group La Oreja de Van Gogh concludes their Spanish tour on December 30 before continuing their itinerary in the Americas.
Special Reunions and Flamenco Tribute Concerts Announced
The autumn season features unique music events with major social impact. Catalan reggae-pop band Oques Grasses will bid farewell with four concerts at Estadi Olimpic in Barcelona on September 5, 7, 9 and 10. Spanish urban collective Agorazein, featuring rapper C. Tangana, will reunite for four shows at Movistar Arena on November 15, 16, 17 and 18.
The season culminates with a star-studded tribute celebrating the 75th anniversary of legendary flamenco singer Camaron de la Isla at Movistar Arena on December 1. The memorial concert will feature performances by Pablo Alboran, Pablo Lopez, Kiko Veneno, Raimundo Amador, Israel Fernandez, Jose Merce, Tomativo, Vanesa Martin and Rosario.
