Brazilian singer Simone Mendes has responded to fan reactions after revealing the results of an aesthetic procedure to lift her nose.
The sertanejo artist took to social media to push back against online rumors that she had undergone a surgical rhinoplasty, insisting that the adjustment was non-invasive.
Mendes urged her followers to trust the process, explaining that the area remained heavily swollen and would settle within 15 days. She said she had used threads to lift the tip because it was drooping, stressing that the treatment was not a surgical rhinoplasty and asking the public to stay calm before rating the change.
The medical professional responsible for the procedure also clarified the changes to the singer's face, confirming that the objective was to raise the nasal tip without any need for surgery.
Doctor explains nose lift recovery
The doctor explained that suspension threads were used to raise the nasal tip and warned that the shape would alter over the coming weeks. She noted that during the first 15 to 30 days the nose appears more lifted, curved, and somewhat pig-like.
According to the practitioner, the nose is currently far more elevated than desired and will drop naturally as healing progresses. She advised observers to remain patient, promising to publish formal before-and-after photographs once the final outcome is established at the end of 30 days.
Mendes had shared the initial results on social media on Thursday, triggering an immediate flurry of responses across online platforms.
Some social media users claimed the singer was completely unrecognizable, while another commenter remarked that the post appeared on their timeline without them recognizing her. Other followers praised the look, with one fan commenting that they did not know it was possible for Mendes to look even more beautiful.
Sertanejo star and solo career
Mendes is one of the most prominent figures in modern sertanejo, a style of Brazilian country music that ranks among the most commercially successful genres in Latin America. She achieved nationwide fame performing alongside her sister Simaria in the popular duo Simone and Simaria, before launching a solo career following the pair's split in 2022.
Since launching her solo career, Mendes has sustained massive popularity, regularly performing at major venues and communicating with tens of millions of followers through her personal social media channels.
Both Mendes and her doctor said the final appearance of her nose will only be visible once the initial swelling subsides at the end of the recovery period. The practitioner confirmed that full before-and-after images will be released once the 30-day healing process concludes.
