Spice Girls Announce 30th Anniversary Vinyl Box Set

The Spice Girls have announced a 30th anniversary vinyl box set and collectible figure line for release on November 6, ruling out a reunion tour.

The British pop group confirmed their 30th anniversary celebration will focus on physical collector items rather than live concerts. Fans had spent months analyzing cryptic social media posts, expecting an announcement for a world tour featuring all five original members.

The central item of the anniversary release is 'The singles collection', scheduled for launch on November 6. The box set gathers all the singles released throughout the band's career alongside every corresponding B-side for the first time in a single package.

The physical collection contains 14 vinyl discs pressed in vibrant colors, packaged alongside CD versions. Each single retains its original sleeve artwork from its initial release in the 1990s.

The collection includes unreleased demo recordings recovered from the band's personal archives. Among the rare audio tracks is 'Do you think about me', one of the earliest demos recorded by the group during their initial rehearsal sessions before their chart success.

Collectible vinyl box set and unreleased recordings

Spice Girls formed in London in 1994, comprising Geri Halliwell, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, and Emma Bunton. Known individually as Ginger, Posh, Scary, Sporty, and Baby Spice, the group achieved international fame with their 1996 debut single 'Wannabe' and became icons of the 1990s pop movement centered on female empowerment.

In music publishing, B-sides originally referred to the secondary songs recorded on the back side of vinyl singles. These tracks frequently featured non-album recordings, alternative takes, or experimental material, making complete collections sought after by music collectors.

Alongside the music release, the anniversary line features an exclusive series of five Funko POP! figures. Each figurine captures a band member in a signature pose while wearing outfits recreated from the 'Wannabe' music video.

The figurine designs match the specific clothing worn in the 1996 video, including Halliwell's red dress and Brown's checkered trousers. The collectibles depict all five singers as they appeared during their initial commercial debut.

Funko POP vinyl figures and Wannabe outfits

Funko POP! figurines are produced by American company Funko, which creates licensed pop culture collectibles characterized by oversized heads and stylized vinyl bodies. The brand regularly collaborates with musical acts to commemorate major career milestones.

The 30th anniversary milestone has also seen related projects celebrating the band's legacy. Members Emma Bunton and Melanie Chisholm recently discussed early recording sessions, including the origin of the background laughter audible on 'Wannabe'. London has also hosted a retrospective exhibition dedicated to the group's 1996 breakout year, while an official commemorative coin was struck for the anniversary.

'The singles collection' box set and the commemorative Funko POP! figures will both go on sale on November 6. The group confirmed no concert dates or stage performances are currently planned for the anniversary year.
