The Only Way Is Essex star Tommy Mallet has showcased his dramatic weight loss transformation on Instagram, revealing that becoming more disciplined with his daily lifestyle helped him recover from a dark period in his life.
The 34-year-old reality television personality explained that consistent exercise served as the catalyst for his health overhaul, alongside quitting alcohol and focusing on healthier eating habits.
Mallet admitted he is in a much happier place now after previously finding himself in a terrible state both physically and mentally while managing career pressures.

Posing shirtless to display his new muscular frame following regular gym workouts, the reality star shared a side-by-side comparison with an older photograph to highlight his physical progress.

Reflecting on the mental shift behind his change in appearance, Mallet told his social media followers that the physical results were only part of a wider personal journey.
"There’s a much bigger transformation here than just losing weight," he wrote. "The photo on the left was taken at a time when I was in a terrible place, physically and mentally."

Overcoming Business Strain and Personal Struggles
Mallet explained that the initial image captured a period when he was building his first company and completely neglected his personal health while pursuing commercial goals.
"I was building my first company and completely let myself go in the process," he wrote. "I was obsessed with building the business, chasing success and proving what I could achieve but I wasn’t looking after the person building it."
The reality star admitted that he initially struggled to understand why he felt so unwell before taking active steps to learn more about his mental health.
"I couldn’t understand why I felt so bad. Then I started learning how my own brain worked. I started becoming more disciplined with the things I could control," he explained.
To improve his wellbeing, Mallet implemented structured changes to his daily routine, cutting out alcohol and unhealthy foods while establishing a regular workout schedule.
"I stopped drinking. I stopped eating things that I knew made me feel terrible afterwards. I started training consistently. I started looking after my mind as much as my body," he shared.

However, the television personality stressed that he avoided becoming overly restrictive with his eating habits.
"But I didn’t become obsessive. I still eat what I want. I still have loads of ice cream with my kids. I still enjoy my life. The difference is balance," he added.

Redefining Personal Success and Health
Mallet explained how his perspective on personal achievement has evolved significantly throughout his fitness journey.
"I used to think success meant sacrificing everything to get where you wanted to go," he wrote. "Now I think real success is building the life you want without losing yourself along the way."
He noted that the psychological benefits of his new lifestyle far outweighed the physical changes visible in his before and after photographs.
"The biggest change between these two photos isn’t my body. It’s that I’m happier. More disciplined. More present. And I understand myself better than I ever have," he stated.
Offering advice to followers embarking on their own health transformations, Mallet urged people to focus on gradual, manageable commitments.
"You don’t need to change everything overnight. Start keeping the small promises you make to yourself," he concluded. "Your body changes. Your mind changes. Your confidence changes. And eventually, your whole life can change. Look after the person who’s chasing the dream."
Mallet first rose to public prominence on the hit ITVBe reality series The Only Way Is Essex, commonly known as TOWIE. The long-running British reality show follows the lives, relationships, and drama of personalities living in Essex, England. Mallet joined the cast in 2014 and starred on the series for several years before expanding his career into footwear design and entrepreneurship.

Georgia Kousoulou Three-Stone Fitness Transformation
The update from Mallet comes after his wife, Georgia Kousoulou, displayed her own three-stone weight loss transformation earlier this year.
The 35-year-old TOWIE star took to Instagram to showcase her gym-honed figure in a burgundy thong two-piece bikini, crediting regular Pilates sessions for helping her build toned abdominal muscles.
Sharing an update after a workout, Kousoulou wrote: "Post Pilates & good lighting Training has become more than just staying in shape, it’s honestly more for my mind now. If I don’t train I get groggy, tired & irritable. I try to do 2-3 Pilates a week & one gym session! anyone else the same? If I haven’t trained.. stay away."
Pilates is a mind-body exercise method developed in the early 20th century that focuses on core strength, muscle tone, posture, and flexibility through controlled movements.

Addressing Weight Loss Speculation and Exercise Routines
The mother of one achieved her three-stone weight loss in eight months following the birth of her daughter Gigi in 2024. She welcomed Gigi with Mallet after undergoing IVF treatment, one year after tragically suffering a miscarriage.
Kousoulou previously addressed public speculation surrounding her slimmed-down appearance, firmly shutting down claims that she had used weight loss injections to shed weight.
Weight loss jabs refer to GLP-1 receptor agonist medications, such as Ozempic and Wegovy, which have grown in global popularity for weight management.
Responding directly to critics in a social media comment section, Kousoulou wrote: "Oh the comments. People hate to see it because they can't imagine doing the hard work themselves."
"3 stone I have lost in 8 months. On average the maximum I have lost a week is about 1&half 2lbs," she continued. "That isn't a jab that is HARD HARD exercise & full control & determination. Plus a wedding for motivation!"
She added that while she had nothing against weight-loss injections, she chose to focus on physical training first.
"I have nothing against the jab at all. Of course it crossed my mind, but I thought I would try this first because I have done it 10000 times before," she explained.
