The animated feature film Um and Khrum: The Power of Five Flavors will premiere on September 30, 2027. The project is the first feature-length film in the franchise.
The story takes place on a planet made entirely of food, where scientist Um lives with his friend Khrum, who can transform into whatever he eats. The two heroes accidentally awaken an ancient villain named Bezvkus, who wants to destroy all flavors. To stop him, they must search for five legendary ingredients that hold the power of the primary tastes.
Production and cast
General producer Dmitry Parshin described the project as a family adventure. Parshin said the team is making a bright, musical, and funny film while preserving the main idea of the series, which is that moderation in food and life is essential. He added that this concept is presented through an engaging story, humor, and vivid characters rather than moralizing.
Oleg Sheplyakov directed the picture. The screenplays were written by Iordan Kefalidi, Yevgeny Agabekov, and Nikolai Titov. Main characters are voiced by Ivan Chaban, Maxim Sergeyev, and Irina Obrezkova, while Anton Vasilyev composed eight original musical tracks for the movie.
