Vicky Martín Berrocal's Tourist Look Bids Farewell to Colombia

Vicky Martín Berrocal has said goodbye to Colombia after several days discovering Medellín and attending a fashion show as a guest, marking her departure with an affectionate message on social media.

"Last day in this blessed place. Medellín, you and your people have made me very happy. I haven't even left yet and I already want to come back," she wrote alongside several images from her final day in the city.

Alongside her words of thanks, the Spanish designer and businesswoman once again offered a style lesson, this time with a look far removed from the sophisticated Jorge Duque corset she had worn hours earlier. For her last outing, she chose a set of wardrobe basics designed for walking, sightseeing and enjoying the city in total comfort.

Martín Berrocal built the outfit around a black round-neck vest top and a pair of Zara jeans with a relaxed fit and wide leg, a silhouette that remains one of the season's dominant trends.

The simplicity of both pieces makes the outfit easy to recreate and shows that elaborate designs are not needed to create a look with personality. Well-chosen basics like these lend themselves to versatile styling that works equally well for travel, a day of shopping or a city break.

New Balance trainers for a summer suitcase

Footwear played a key role in the outfit too. Instead of sandals or espadrilles, the designer opted for a pair of New Balance trainers in light tones, a choice increasingly favoured by style-setters when a day involves hours of walking around a city.

Comfortable, easy to combine and carrying a sporty edge that continues to trend, the trainers rounded off a look built for enjoying the trip without sacrificing style.

As a finishing touch, Martín Berrocal added an animal-print bag, which broke up the sobriety of the black and denim without taking attention away from the rest of the outfit.

A look to copy through August

This final look sums up one of the key rules of a summer wardrobe: invest in basic pieces that work together wherever you are. A black top, a good pair of jeans, comfortable trainers and a bag with personality are enough to build an outfit that never goes out of style.

As she said goodbye to Colombia with a promise to return, Vicky Martín Berrocal also left behind an easy-to-copy combination that many are expected to wear throughout August, whether for exploring a new city or getting through everyday plans with the same mix of comfort and style.
