Hot porridge is the perfect way to start the day. However, the classic recipe for everyone’s favorite breakfast is actually not so healthy. And here’s why.

Nutritionists are constantly arguing over whether it is healthy to eat porridge for breakfast. On the one hand, porridge contains a lot of fiber, which is necessary for the proper functioning of the intestines. On the other hand, lately, experts are increasingly talking about the benefits of a protein and fat breakfast – with a minimum carbohydrate content.

And yet, the benefits of porridge cannot be overstated: after all, cereals are an important part of the diet. Nevertheless, most people cook porridge poorly, which is why it almost completely loses its beneficial properties.

The reason for this is the cooking of cereals in cow’s milk. This combination is not considered nutritionally optimal: after all, lactose interferes with the absorption of useful cereal components. Instead of the expected benefits, soon after such a breakfast, lethargy, bloating and a desire to eat again appear.

Also, remember that lactose is a type of sugar. Thus, milk porridge will not only be difficult for the body to digest, but will also affect blood sugar spikes.

Agree, it’s a shame when breakfast, which you consider healthy, contributes to weight gain and deterioration of skin quality. But this is exactly how the body is affected by high insulin release, following blood sugar jumps!

In order for porridge to benefit the body, it must be boiled in water or vegetable milk. Of course, at first such a breakfast will seem unusual – after all, the taste of milk porridge has been familiar to us since childhood. However, some alternative milk variants give oatmeal a very interesting sound. The main thing is not to be afraid and try them!
