The little Mermaid live version
Obviously later The Lion King (2019), The Jungle Book (2016) or even Dumbo (2019), Disney studios continue their crusade for adapts all the great classics of animation in a live version. This time, the big-eared studio tackles another of its masterpieces The little Mermaid. Directed by Ron Clements and John Musker in 1989, the animated film thrilled millions of viewers around the world. The story, you probably already know, tells The Adventures of Arielone of the daughters of King Triton, who seeks to rehabilitate music in the seabed.
This immense classic from Disney studios even gave birth of two sequelspublished in 2000 and 2008. In 2018, Blake Harris and Chris Bouchard adapted in a live version, freely, the story of Hans Christian Andersen with The little Mermaid. This year Disney takes over and therefore offers a new adaptation.
Ursula reveals herself in a new teaser
Directed by Rob Marshall (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Mary Poppins Returns), this feature film features in particular Javier Bardem in the skin of King Triton, Melissa McCarthy in the role of Ursula, Awkwafina in Eureka, Jacopo Tremblay as Flounder e Halle Bailey as Ariel.

Expected next May 24th in dark rooms, Rob Marshall’s film reveals a little more through a new teaser. Thirty seconds that offer some unpublished images of Ariel, and reveal everything first look at Melissa McCarthy as Ursula. In light of these new images, The little Mermaid shouldn’t take too many liberties with the original work.
