Dave Chapelle’s Hollywood Bowl Set Won’t Be on Netflix

The most talked about moment from Netflix’s first comedy festival – Probably one of the most talked about moments None Comedy Performance in Last Memory – No streaming.

Netflix has announced a list of published content from its Netflix Is a Joke Fest, and Dave Chapelle’s Hollywood Bowl event, where the comedian was attacked on stage last week, is not included.

However, the team’s absence is not due to the attack. Streamer made it clear ahead of the festival that the comedian’s four sold-out shows at the Hollywood Bowl were not specifically scripted. Chapel had his own cameras to film the show, as comics often do when developing new material (as Chapel did). Professional footage of the attack will likely exist and eventually see the light of day in some form, but that’s not part of Netflix’s plans.

Instead, here are some special Netflix snippets of their 336 comics that have run 288 shows in 35 theaters across Los Angeles in recent weeks, with release dates slated for each service:

May 19 – Salon: Respect for Stand-up nobles“A night to celebrate the greatest comedians of all time who are no longer with us. John Mullen respects Robin Williams, Dave Chapelle respects Richard Pryor, Chelsea Handler respects Joan Rivers and John Stewart respects George Carlin.

June 6 – Bill Bury presents to you: friends who kill“Stand Exhibition, curated by Burr”.

June 7th and 12th – This is my time with David Letterman“Each of the six episodes focuses on a comedian, including a 5-minute break and a conversation with Letterman.”

June 11th – Parenting Advice from Amy Sumer‘Stand-up exhibition curated by Sumer.’
